DAY 6. Acholi People, you have Been Cheated; Stolen from, and Robbed More than Enough. Now you are Grouped Among the Poorest People in Uganda.
WORLD-WIDE PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
40 DAYS OF PRAYER, FASTING AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE, TO PROTECT ACHOLILAND AND SAVE THE PERSECUTED ACHOLI PEOPLE OF NORTHERN UGANDA.
DAY 6. Acholi People, you have Been Cheated; Stolen from, and Robbed More than Enough. Now you are Grouped Among the Poorest People in Uganda.
27). It’s time we took back what the enemy has stolen from us through prayer. We Call Upon Acholi People and demand the enemy to pay back sevenfold what he has stolen from us.
When David’s enemies stole his family, and burned his home city, and everything in it, to the ground, he wept until he couldn’t weep anymore. Then, he had a choice—he could either accept the loss, feel like a victim, and fall into self-pity, or he could encourage himself in the Lord, gather up his men, pursue, and recover everything and more. He chose the latter! And he came back with everything that belonged to him. PLUS, he plundered the enemy’s camp and brought all the spoils back with him!
1 Samuel 30:1-20
[1] David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it,
[2] and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them but carried them off as they went on their way.
[3] When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.
[4] So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.
[5] David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel.
[6] David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
[7] Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him,
[8] and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
[9] David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind.
[10] Two hundred of them were too exhausted to cross the valley, but David and the other four hundred continued the pursuit.
[11] They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat—
[12] part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.
[13] David asked him, “Who do you belong to? Where do you come from?” He said, “I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite. My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago.
[14] We raided the Negev of the Kerethites, some territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag.”
[15] David asked him, “Can you lead me down to this raiding party?” He answered, “Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them.”
[16] He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and revelling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.
[17] David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled.
[18] David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives.
[19] Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back.
[20] He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, “This is David’s plunder.”
Whatever the devil has stolen from the Acholi—time, relationships, money, development or health—it’s time to recover it all. It’s time to charge into the devil’s camp with these 7 Confessions; To Take Back What the Devil Has Stolen that you can declare in faith.
We declare in the Name of Jesus.
1. Exodus 3:21
[21] “And I will make the Egyptians favourably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed.
The favour of God in the lives of Acholi people, to restore everything the enemy has stolen from them.
2. Joshua 11:20
[20] For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that he might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
The Acholi people are expecting great victories in the face of great impossibilities.
3. Proverbs 6:31
[31] Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold; Though it costs him all the wealth of his house.
We have found the thief, and he must restore the Acholi people seven times what he stole.
4.1 Samuel 30:6-8
[6] David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
[7] Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him,
[8] and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
Acholi people are pursuing total restoration of their wealth, money, time, opportunities, health, and relationships; will without fail, recover all. So, shall it be.
5.Deuteronomy 28:13
[13] The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
Acholi are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. We expect blessings to chase them down and overtake them. Every tongue that rises against them will be shown to be in the wrong. No weapon formed against them, their finances, their health, their family or their ministry will ever prosper.
6. Romans 8:28
[28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God is turning the Acholi people’s situation around right now. As we obey Him and praise Him with a grateful heart, our faith and trust in Him is opening the door for a total and complete restoration of everything that has been stolen.
7. Romans 8:37
[37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
The Acholi people are more than conquerors! I they are not only recovering everything that has been stolen from them, but they are going to a new level in Jesus’ Name (Romans 8:37)! Speak victory over your situation from this day forward. Then, listen for the direction of the Holy Spirit. He will lead and guide you to the place where you can reclaim everything that has ever been stolen. God is the God of restoration! Amen.
28). Acholi People, pray to God to enlarge you and enlarge your territories. Let His hands be upon you and keep you from harm.
The prayer of Jabez is found in a historical note within a genealogy: “Jabez was more honourable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, ‘I gave birth to him in pain.’ Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request” (1 Chronicles 4:9–10). The prayer has become well-known due to the publication of the best-selling book, The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life.
Little is known of Jabez, other than he was a descendant of Judah, he was an honourable man, and his mother named him “Jabez” (meaning “sorrowful” or “sorrow-maker”) because his had been a painful birth. In his prayer, Jabez cries out to God for protection and blessing. Using a play on words, Jabez, the “man of sorrow,” asks God to keep him from that sorrow that his name both recalled and foreboded.
The prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:10 contains an urgent request for four things.
1) God’s blessing.
Jabez acknowledges that the God of Israel is the source of all blessings, and he asks God for His grace. No doubt, this request was based, at least in part, on God’s promise of blessing to Abraham and his descendants (Genesis 22:17).
Let your blessings fall upon the Acholi from all directions. Open the windows of Heaven and the gateways thereof that you can bless your children the Acholi Abba father. Let them be blessed in their farmlands and in their families. Let them be blessed when they eat and when they sleep. Let them be blessed in their cities and villages. Let them be blessed when going in and when coming out. Let them be blessed and lend to Nations. Let them be the head and not the tail. In Jesus name. Amen.
2) An expansion of territory.
Jabez prays for victory and prosperity in all his endeavours and that his life would be marked by increase.
The ruling tribe has tried in every way to silence the Acholi people and worst of all, to take their territories but Lord, your word says Acts 17:24-26 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Father you determined the habitation of the Acholi and gave them a land. Prevent land grabbers from taking the land of the Acholi and expand their territories in every way lord. Expand their territories in Education, military, politics, business and so forth. Expand the Acholi. Amen.
3) The presence of God’s hand.
This was Jabez’s way of asking for the guidance of God and His strength to be evident in his daily existence.
Lord, we know that your hands are hands that bear rule, and we know that you are able to help calls to you for help and whosoever calls upon your name. Father, the Acholi people are in our hearts, and as children of the most high, we ask that in this day and age, you guide the Acholi, to protect them from the many pitfalls that still lie ahead of them. We as humans are always bound to make mistakes but when we put our trust in you, we are guided in the way we should go. Thank for the guidance you give the Acholi people. Amen
4) Protection from harm.
Jesus taught His disciples to pray in this way: “Father in heaven . . . deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:9, 13). Jabez looks to God in confidence as his defender.
Heavenly father, the Acholi people for a long time have been a prey for blood sucking demons that lurk in the dark, looking for any opportunity that they can shed blood, so as to quench their thirst. And because you are the sovereign ruler of the Universe, Lord we put Acholi land under your protection and ask that you cover them with your wings as a mother hen covers her chicks. The Acholi people have gone through a lot of civil war and have been terrorised on every side. Give them the protection a child would want from a parent. In Jesus’ great and mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Jabez’s goal in his prayer was to live free from sorrow, and the last thing we read about him is that God heard and answered his prayer. Like Solomon’s humble prayer for wisdom (1 Kings 3:5–14), Jabez’s devout prayer for blessing was answered. The success Jabez enjoyed outweighed the sorrow of his beginning. The prayer of Jabez overcame the name of Jabez.
