DAY 27 OF 40 DAYS. The Urgent Need to Pray for Acholi Leaders

 87). Prayer for Acholi Leaders to Receive God’s Wisdom and Boldness, Exceeding Power, and Authority from the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we pray for Unity of all the Acholi Leaders, wherever they are, especially those at home in Uganda who are struggling to deal with various issues; whether through the vigorous Protection of Acholiland, the Stealing of Oil and Mineral wealth found in Acholiland, Raiding Livestock belonging to Acholi people, Destruction of Acholi Environment, or any communal activities they get involved in, for the sake of Acholi Nation, Lord, give them your wisdom to handle their work with proficiency, and strengthen their arms to win always; and to Acholi Leaders, outside Acholiland, Lord, give them the wisdom they desire, to generate lasting, prosperous ideas for Acholi posterity, the resources and ability to coordinate them with Acholi people back home in Uganda. We pray all these in Jesus’ name. Amen.

First Timothy 2:1-4
First, of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Romans 13:1 
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

Heavenly Father, we pray that the Acholi People, especially those in Acholiland, be obedient and respect their leaders, whom You establish to govern and lead them, by Your grace and Mercy. Make the Acholi People honor and serve their Leaders, praying always, for their well-being. Equally important Lord, empower all the able Acholi People to pray that the national governing authorities may lead them well. Lord, we also pray that Acholi Leaders will learn to pray for themselves and for all the Acholi People worldwide. Empower Acholi Leaders, to always seek Your face in Prayer, in Jesus’ name. Make those Acholi Leaders who always pray for Your Wisdom, even as King Solomon asked You for wisdom so that he could lead his people well (1 Kings 3), receive their rewards of answered prayer, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, we pray, hoping that our leaders are also praying for wisdom for themselves, but although not all our leaders follow and acknowledge You our God, forgive them, for some of them know not, what they do. Even when they do, adding our prayers of agreement to theirs is of utmost benefit. Lord, use any leader—whether that leader believes in You or not—so we pray that our governing authorities know You, our God and will also make use of Your wisdom to carry out the duties of their positions, with love and perfection, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We pray for leaders in Acholi People’s lives who are not part of the government, and those who serve Acholi People within the government departments; the police, schools, and at work, etc., that they need Your support and guidance, through Your Holy Spirit. Empower them Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we also acknowledge and pray for those who lead Acholi People in the church (Ephesians 6:18–20), Leaders in the church have an extra amount of stress and responsibility (James 3:1). We honor them and demonstrate gratitude by lifting them up in prayer. We pray for their well-being, for their families, for them to be refreshed, for them to know God’s peace and joy, and for them to have God’s Spirit of discernment and wisdom. We also pray for the effectiveness of their ministries in bringing glory to God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know that all leaders benefit from godly prayer. We therefore, pray for all of the Acholi leaders, for You, our only God to grant them direction, discernment, and wisdom (James 1:5). We pray that Acholi leaders know Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior. We Pray that their decisions will honor their God, and draw other people also, to honor Him, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We also pray for protection for Acholi leaders from the evil schemes of the enemy. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

We also pray for family members of Acholi leaders, who often help to bear the load of leadership. We Pray, that Acholi leaders will have godly friends who support and encourage them, always, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as you know, it is often humanly easier for us to pray for leaders, with whom we naturally agree, or we think are leading well. It is more challenging for us to pray for leaders with whom we struggle or disagree. But we are called to pray for our leaders regardless of our personal feelings toward them. We therefore wholeheartedly ask You our God, to help us respect and honour Acholi leaders chosen by you, even during our disagreements with them. We pray in Jesus’ name.

As we Pray for Acholi leaders, Lord, answer our Prayers and let their works bring glory to you, our God. Make us understand and be grateful for their sacrifices and the responsibility they bear. We also Pray, that Acholi leaders may acknowledge that God is the ultimate authority, on earth and in heaven. We pray for Acholi leaders, asking You, our God to equip the Acholi men and women You have placed in authority over Acholi People, to carry out Your Will, and Purposes, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

88). Prayer for Leadership Guidance to the Acholi Leaders

Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Heavenly Father, we pray that You will give every Acholi leader strength, so they do not grow weary in their leadership role. Father, the tasks may seem overwhelming and exhausting, but we pray that every leader will recognize that they are assigned to do Your will. Therefore, we know that at the right time, they will reap the harvest/rewards if they do not give up. Lord, we pray for divine strength for every leader and that they will not rely on themselves, but on You. Amen.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Heavenly Father, Your Word declares that we will not be afraid nor dismayed because You are our God. Right now, Lord, we pray for leadership guidance for every Acholi leader, in Jesus’ name. We pray that they will exercise faith, knowing that You will strengthen them and help them. You, Lord, will uphold them with Your righteous hand of power and authority. Thank You in advance for Your divine strength for our leaders. Thank You for Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Philippians 2:3
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Heavenly Father, we pray that as leaders of the Acholi people, lead Your people, we pray that they will not do it selfishly, for personal ambition or vain conceit. We pray that You help Acholi leaders to realize that leading is a task that requires them to serve. So, Father, raise up servant leaders, in Jesus’ name. Help them to work in humility. Make them selfless vessels of Yours, in Your image. Remove any selfish desires from their life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Philippians 2:4
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Acholi leaders. Right now, we pray for leadership guidance. Let every Acholi leader seek not to pursue their own interests, but to look at the interests of others. We pray that You help our leaders to identify the needs of Your people through divine wisdom and understanding. Lord, help them to not be ineffective leaders, but to act for the betterment of Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Righteous God, we thank You for who You are. Lord, we thank You because Your Word reminds us that we can do all things through You who strengthens us. Therefore, Lord, we trust not in ourselves, but instead we pray that every Acholi leader will lean on You because You understand and see things better than they do. We pray for leadership guidance because being a leader may be hard, but through You, it can be done. In Jesus’ glorious name, Amen.

Proverbs 27:23
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flock and look well to thy herds.

Oh LORD God, Your Word declares that You are our Good Shepherd. Just as shepherds provide guidance for their sheep, we pray that You, Our Lord, may provide guidance for every Acholi leader. I pray that You help them to be more like You. Help them know the condition of their flock. We pray that every leader gives careful attention to those they lead, and that the relationship between those they lead will flourish. This is the prayer of our heart, and all in Jesus’ name. Amen.
