DAY 5. Where are Acholi Religious Leaders, to Summon Acholi People on the Ground, for Prayer?
WORLD-WIDE PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
40 DAYS OF PRAYER, FASTING AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE, TO PROTECT ACHOLILAND AND SAVE THE PERSECUTED ACHOLI PEOPLE OF NORTHERN UGANDA.
DAY 5. Where are Acholi Religious Leaders, to Summon Acholi People on the Ground, for Prayer?
25). Proclaim a Fast, Call Upon Acholi People on the Ground to Prayer and Ask the Almighty God for an Answer, to Save Acholi People and Acholiland.
2 Chronicles 20:1-9
It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat. 2. Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (which is En Gedi). 3. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4. So Judah gathered, together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
5. Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, 6 and said: “O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 7. Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? 8. And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, 9. ‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’ 10. And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them—11 here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. 12. O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”
13. Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the LORD.
14. Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. 15. And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah, and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”
18. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. 19. Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high.
Heavenly Father, we come to You our God, in obedience, humility of spirit, the Almighty God, the creator of Heaven and Earth. You are the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God, the God of all the universe, who created and placed us on Earth. You placed different people in their place, and Acholi People in Acholiland. We honour You and trust your almighty power, to do all what man cannot do. Acholi people are now powerless, against the enemies, of their destiny, who have come against them as a flood, to fight and dispossess them of their only defense left: Acholiland. But Acholi people know, that with God, all things are possible, and trust in your power to save them and protect their God-given land, Acholiland.
LORD God, according to each ability, strengthen, and give power to Acholi Religious Leaders, on the Ground, and Acholi people around the world, to proclaim a Fast, and call upon all the Acholi people, and people around the globe to fast and pray to You, their only God.
Acholi people on this platform, now come before your Throne of Grace and Mercy, asking You, their True God, to forgive them of all their sins, look beyond the Faults of all Acholi people, from generations past, save Acholi people, protect Acholiland, and defend Acholi posterity, that they may worship you from generation to generation to come, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
As Jehoshphat, Your servant honoured You and came to You with the whole of Israel, in time of their distress, Acholi people also come to you seeking an answer to their current crisis. Lord, talk to us also, give us an answer, that will be abiding solution to Acholi crisis, in Jesus’ name.
2 Chronicles 7:12-14
Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
26). Acholi People, Depart from Abomination, the Ignorance of Serving Ancestral gods.
Genesis 12:1-3
Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country; From your family; And from your father’s house; To a land that I will show you. 2. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you; And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3. I will bless those who bless you; And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Joshua 24:2-3.
And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of [a]the River in old times; and they served other gods. 3. Then I took your father Abraham from the other side of the River, led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants and gave him Isaac.
Heavenly Father, we now know that Tera, the father of Abraham, was an Idol-maker; together with his people, they were Idol worshippers, servants of ancestral gods of the Chaldees. Abraham was born and raised in Ur of the Chaldees, which is in modern Iraq, near Nasiriyah, in the southeastern part of the country. Abraham and his father worshiped idols. We can make some educated guesses about their religion by looking at the history and religious artifacts, from that period.
Ur of the Chaldees was an ancient city that flourished until about 300 BC. The great ziggurat of Ur was built by Ur-Nammu around 2100 BC and was dedicated to Nanna, the moon god. The moon was worshiped as the power that controlled the heavens and the life cycle on earth. To the Chaldeans, the phases of the moon represented the natural cycle of birth, growth, decay, and death and set the measurement of their yearly calendar. Among the pantheon of Mesopotamian gods, Nanna was supreme, because he was the source of fertility for crops, herds, and families. Prayers and offerings were offered to the moon to invoke its blessing.
Abraham’s father, Terah, was confirmed idol-maker and merchant in Ur. When Terah went away on a journey one day, and left Abraham in charge of the store. Abraham took a stick and shattered all the idols in the store, and then he placed the stick in the hand of the largest idol.
Deuteronomy 17:2-5
“If there is found among you, within any of your gates which the LORD your God gives you, a man or a woman who has been wicked in the sight of the LORD your God, in transgressing His covenant, 3 who has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded, 4 and it is told you, and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an [b]abomination has been committed in Israel, 5 then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has committed that wicked thing, and shall stone to death that man or woman with stones.
Deuteronomy 30:17-20
But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18. I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
Isaiah 65:12-16
Therefore, I will number you for the sword; And you shall all bow down to the slaughter; Because, when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you did not hear, But did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.” 13. Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, My servants shall eat, But you shall be hungry; Behold, My servants shall drink, But you shall be thirsty; Behold, My servants shall rejoice, But you shall be ashamed; 14. Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit. 15. You shall leave your name as a curse to My chosen; For the Lord GOD will slay you, And call His servants by another name; 16. So that he who blesses himself in the earth Shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth Shall swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My eyes.
1 Kings 9:6-9
But if you or your sons at all [a]turn from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, 7 then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8. And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and will hiss, and say, ‘Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?’ 9. Then they will answer, ‘Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore, the LORD has brought all this calamity on them.”
Jeremiah 5:6-10
Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not harm you.’ 7. Yet you have not listened to Me,” says the LORD, “that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. 8. “Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Because you have not heard My words,
9. Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the LORD, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon; My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly, destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations. 10. Moreover I will [a]take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.
Daniel 3:10-30
You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears, the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, shall fall, down and worship the gold image; 11 and whoever does not fall, down, and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 12 There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; these men, O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up.”
13. Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. So, they brought these men before the king. 14. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up? 15. Now if you are ready at the time, you hear, the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall, down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”
16. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”
19. Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20. And he commanded certain mighty men of valour who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21. Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22. Therefore, because the king’s command was [a]urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell, down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counsellors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25. “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
26. Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most-High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. 27. And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counsellors gathered, together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them. 28. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! 29. Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.” 30. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.
Heavenly Father, your words in totality warn humans that we should worship You alone, the God who is able to both kill the body and take souls to eternal punishment of fire; and You do not share Your glory with anyone. Even at a time like this Lord, when some are so thick that they do not comprehend, Lord we pray, that by Your grace and mercy, You will open the spiritual eyes of all Acholi men and women, to know that You are not just the God of the Jews, but the God of all creation, the creator of the earth with everything in it. Kindly open those eyes, blinded by evil, and hearts clouded by witchcraft, to see the danger coming upon Acholi people. For You cannot deliver Your enemies but your word says, You punish them, three to four generation of them that hate You. Lord, Deliver Acholi People, protect Acholiland and Defend Acholi Posterity, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
